Default advice please

i currently own a 1997 SVT Cobra, have been talking to this guy about trading for a 1998 black 6 speed camaro ls1. Used to own a 99 z28 and a 2000 formula. Advice on should i do it or not. My cobra has 75,000 miles, and the z28 has 109,000 miles. I think if the paint is all original and clear of any accidents or problems i might go ahead and do it. What do you guys think?

Isn't the cobra worth more? I would personally drive the camaro over the cobra, but it depends whether you want a car that has more collectable value or a car that is faster.....I don't think the 98 camaros will be as valuble in 20-30 years as that svt cobra. I could be wrong, but there are a shitload of 98 camaros on the road. It really depends....you can make both cars fast as **** with the right mods.....are you more a chevy or ford man???

Sorry to say, I would keep the RuStang. . . Lower miles. . . Kind of more rare.

Unless the Camaro had something special. I.E. Built motor, drive train or super low miles.

What are the production numbers for that year cobra?

Believe its around 1500 made in my color in 1997, i think it is a better idea to keep the cobra.

6000 SSs or so made in 01. There were prolly only 1 to 2k made in red. I don't consider my car limited production. Ironically that year there were the same amount roughly of Zs as there were of SSs, so that means neither is rare.

if miles were equal id make a trade. you have quite a few less so id keep your car.


i dont consider either car a potential collectors vehicle.

I hate to say it but if were you I'd keep the cobra cause it has like 40K miles less than the camaro and you know what's wrong with your cobra and what it does or doesn't need. No point in stepping into new crap that you don't know what's wrong with it or other issues. There will be alot of other F-bodies and if you save your money you can get back into one someday. Good Luck

Excellent advice!! You don't describe your own Cobra though. Condition? Mods? So many unanswered questions. Also don't worry about collector value on a 75,000 mile car. Even if you put it away right now for the next 20 years there would be better example Cobras available to a collector.
