Default determining desired stroke - is this a good place to start?

Can anyone tell me how to determine the stroke required for the 2 following engine build options and results/goals?

A) 502ci LSX engine build with a goal of 750HP N/A HP at the crank ?

B) 402ci LSX Engine build with a goal of 1000RWHP via Twin Turbo's ?

Do I need to provide more succinct info to determine the required stroke?

Thanks in advance for your much appreciated feedback.

Sincerely,

Tom

The 402 could be accomplished using any of the LS blocks that have a 4 inch bore (LS2, LQ4, LQ9, LY6, L76 etc..) and adding a 4 inch stroke. With that much boost, you would definitely need at least an iron block foundation...not sure how much power stock block will hold...and probably an LSX/aftermarket block.

As for the 502, I havn't seen that exact cube motor built. I think the LSX Bowtie max bore is 4.25 in, so you could get 482 cubes out of it. You would have to get a tall deck block to get over 500 cubes. I'd try the internal engine section, provide what type of torque numbers you want in addition to HP, and include what the application will be. Good luck

402 = 4.00 bore x 4" stroke

502 = 4.215 bore x 4.500" stroke

We offer a 460 with 725+ FWHP that will handle a 200 shot of n2o

or any one of our 403 can be built for the twin turbo using an iron block or aluminum

Best way to determine what stroke you need is to set up goals and a budget. Then we can look at it an decide the best plan of attack.
