4 oil changes on a DD saturn ion redline... 57000 miles, and i beat the **** out of it....
10 oil changes on a 2001 s-10 4.3l 150k miles driven hard and put away wet ... runs like a sowing machine.
i change every season in my LS1.... or about 5000 miles....
AMSOIL FTW

I wouldn't run standard parts store oil and filter that long, but I would if I were running Amsoil with a sub-micron filter setup.
I usually go about 4k or so in the Bird before oil changes (running Penzoil Platinum 10-30), and about 6-7k in my Jeep 4.0 (WalMart SuperTech 10-30).
The general rule of thumb I use with the Bird is I just change it when the oil gets low. I'll add the 1/2 quart I have left after a oil change the first time I check it and it's low, then when it's low again I'll change it.
