Rebuild Engine or Replace??? I just purchased a 2000 Camaro SS. It has stock LS1 motor with T-56. Im familiar with these cars I have owned 3 LS1 Cars and 2 LT1 Cars. The motor in the car I just bought is Knocking in the bottom end and has no oil pressure. This car is gonna be my daily driver. Should I rebuild it and stroke it or should I buy a used engine and slap a small cam in it. I just want to be able to drive it anywhere with a little more Horse Power then stock. I talked to a local shop and they told me to buy the used engine and put a small cam in it and have the stock heads ported and polished. I need some other opions please help!! thanks

well if you know anything about skateboards...your question is the equivelant to asking whats better? a zero or a birdhouse?.....get what i mean?...both great options, i dont think ones better than the other, just depends what you want to do. thats just my opinion.

I wanna spend about 4000 but keep it a daily driver. I was quoted 2 grand for a motor with 70k and 2300 to have stock heads ported and a trick flow cam 222-224 lift new oil pump,timing chain,gaskets,pushrods..is that a fair price?

For a true DD I'd slap in a used motor and save a build for a toy. But it sounds like this DD is gonna be both... therefore i'd rebuild and stroke it with a new rotating assembly. the top end could be enhanced later.

Seen those trick flow twisted wedge heads tey have for LS1 engines? They are BAD-ASSED.
