uhmm are you serious? lugging your car will do absolutely nothing to hurt your car. 'right up there with one of the worst things you can do to beat down the inside of your engine' ya its just like using sand as oil...uhmm not this is the most ridiculous thread i have seen in quite some time. show me one person who has 'beat down there motor' by underrevving.

i guess its too complicated of an example for certain simple minded people to figure out, next time ill compare a go kart to a top fuel dragster and maybe youll get the idea

well really its just to stupid of an example to glorify with an answer. It makes zero sense and is in no way shape or form enlightening about the topic. go ahead and follow up with a go kart to dragster comparison just to follow suit with the first comparison.

I rarely use sixth gear but running at 55 in 6th is what they used for the EPA testing for the gas milage estimate that was published. I don't use sixth because with my relocated torque arm it gets kind of clunky at slower speeds and low RPM.

My car is an auto, but I DD a 5 speed. I remember reading somehwere, owners manual I suppose, in big bold lettering "Dont lug the engine" At that point I started to think, how would overloading the engine at too low an rpm effect the internal components of an engine?? I realized after careful consideration that it beats them down, so

Man this thread is all over the place..lol

Me personally my Engine idles at 950-1000RPM. It has some Cam Surge at 1700-1800 RPM. Before that it's fine, after that it's fine. With the T56 and 3.50 Gears it's 60mph at about 1500-1600. At 70-75 it's in the area where it surges so I kick it up to 80 to not have it lug in the surge area. I'll be puttin in 3.90 Gears so I expect 75 to be in the 1900 range..that will help it. Then again I have a Cammed Stroker so that's a little different.
