Talking headers coming soon!

i have a 2000 z28. im ordering as soon as uncle sam gives me my money.

my plan is pacesetter long tubes and ory from texas speed.

i was just looking for opinions on everything. fit of the headers? is there a better deal from somewhere else? even tho texas is the best deal ive seen. i dont want used from ebay tho. ive never done this before so any pointers on instalation would be a great help. what kind of horsepower gains can i see? how much more hp can i get with more expensive headers? they can get very expensive. is the ceramic coating worth the money?

TONS of questions! haha.

There's a write up in the gen 111 section. It should be in the stickys. As for the headers and ory. They fit my car great. Only thing I needed to do was work the ory a bit. It wasn't a good fit at first. I got a tail pipe expander and that did the trick. The headers took some time to install. You might want to get new gaskets, o2 sims and some good band clamps. I just welded my ory to the headers. Good luck.

Definitely get the plug and play extension harnesses. Since the EPA cracked down on the sims you will have to delete the rear O2 sensors with tuning. Your factory gaskets should be in good shape but if you want to replace them it isn't a bad idea. As far as the headers and ORY go, you shouldn't have an issue with fitment. We sell a ton of these combos without an issue. We recently redesigned our ORY's for better fitment and flow. Let me know if you have any other questions and we'll get you fixed up!

if it was me I would get the coating on the headers. They will last alot longer and look better especially if you DD the car. As for fitment I had no problems at all with installation of my pacesetters. Me and a buddy had a floor jack and jack stands and installed them on my garage floor along with the catted ypipe. It takes a little longer with no lift but can be done with patience and some elbow grease. I even installed the True Dual with no issues either.

My car had 72K and my gaskets were fine. As for now no leaks and I've driven about 2,000 miles with them on. As for horsepower gains, I would imagine all long tubes would gain about the same unless you step up to stepped headers or a 2 inch size header.

Hope this helps.

pacesetters are definitely a good buy!! but if i were you i would go ahead and opt for some ARH 1 7/8 headers just in case you decide to go with bigger cubes.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I'm gonna mention this anyways...

You may want to consider upgrading your motor mounts to either Polys or Solids while you have your exhaust manifolds off the car. There are two good reasons to do this.

The first is, with the exhaust outta the way, it makes getting to and installing the mounts much, much easier.

Second, having upgraded motor mounts will be insurance against your new ORY banging on your floorpan from the torque of the motor.

Okay, I've gotten that outta my system. Sounds like you've got a pretty sweet exhuast setup picked out. Good luck with your upcoming install.

this has never crossed my mind. is it a problem with this sort of setup (i know lots of ppl have had a loudmouth/pacesetter combo at one time)? i havent done any research on motor mount prices, or ever changed motor mounts before.

opinions on swaping motor mounts while installing headers? (yes or no)
how to's?
good vendors?
anyone had this problem before?

not doing this till spring so i got some time.

ive heard this from almost everyone. maybe one or 2 ppl said they still liked the sound with ory pipe and headers. i was kinda thinking about spending the extra money for the catted y because this is an everyday driver in the summer. im going to have to look into those motor mounts tho.
