Despite all of the other advise...read the above. I am 2-0 against my buddy's similiarly modded '03 Cobra. His last dyno was around 397 RWHP and that was before he went !CATS, too. Now, he claims he's missed shifts...both times we've run, but I'm not so sure I buy it. My car's only trapping 110 so I mean, it's not the fastest SS on the road but he hasn't gotten me yet!

I'd have to say a lot actually has to do with the drivers. I was just out near L.A. for the last coyuple weeks and was seeing some guys with z06's running 13.8's at best! I wanted to smack them across the side of the head and take their keys. These guys had to be sleeping behind the wheel or something. 1.6-1.8 r/t's??????? WTF? If you can get your r/t and 60' down that helps a whole hell of a lot. And I also agree with unit. It doesn't take that much to really get there.

In Car Craft mag, Feb 2004 issue page 72, there is a great article on a 99 Z28. Lincoln Tech got a 99 Z28 with 100,00 miles to achieve a 12.85 @ 110.21 naturally aspirated . They performed fairly straight forward bolt ons and did a 4.10 gear swap. Check it out for some ideas.

12.85 @ 110mph? Even for 100K miles, that's horrible for a bolt-on LS1.

Heh. Several times at New England Dragway this past summer there was a Z06 and several base Corvettes running poorly. One Vette was actually running so eradically that he went high 13 one trip, and high 14 the next trip down the track.

On the other hand, there was another Z06 running consistant low low 12s that ultimately dumped his tranny all over the track later in the evening.

Reaction time is not figured into your ET's. That's why you can run a faster ET and still lose a drag race.

off the topic a little, but did anyone read the article in Hot Rod Mag about the Cobra vs WRX. I think they need to get a lot better driver for that cobra.

Yes I know the r/t doesn't figure into your E.T. But you can't win a race by sitting on the line for 2 seconds either.

Sure you can. It just depends on how fast you are compared to the guy next to you.

The trap speeds were definitely the tale-of-the-tape in those results, for sure.

Definitely. I beat a Z06 at the track by running a 13.0 @ 107mph when I was N/A in my LS1. Does that mean Z06's are slower than LS1's? Nope, it means the guy was a horrible driver. He missed two gears and he did a top fuel dragster type burnout across the line...and then one in reverse back across the line again!

My best friend drives an 03 bobra too he ran bone stock 12.9@113mph first pass
and got to sideways his second so he let off a sec and ran 13.0@114mph after iceing the heaton for about 1 hour!!
my car ran bone *** stock 12.9@109mph now with headers and lid cutout i ran 12.7@115 on eagle f1's 2.1 60ft
on the highway when we race all i can say is (Igot8byyour03cobra)About half a car
I think that some cars are just faster than others the ones that tend too get beat on more seem to be the faster of them.
We like to call these factory freaks some people cant accept these i had to take 14 people to the track to show them that I trapped 115mph with 3 mods
His cobra I believe is a freak too i have raced them and beaten them with good drivers on the highway
they usually trap 107mph to 110mph bone stock here
all bolt ons 118mph to 124mph
kenne bell 135mph only saw 1 run
never saw but heared turbo 155mph
UNIT my buddy just got Borla Stinger and a UPR XPipe that is the best thing i have ever heard in my life!!
