Of course I am running headers and do not have emissions crap ... doesn't everyone ........ but like I said if you use the correct tools and get 1-7 from the top and 8 from the bottom it still should not take more than a hour to do even if you have emissions crap.

They are kinda strict here so my dumbass has emmisions headers I did learn to leave the back alan heads off the PS coil bracket. Took me a couple hours on the car but can do my Z-71 in twenty minutes

i just did the plugs and wires on my car. it has no air which made it easier. the easiest way i found to get the #8 plug was to put the spark plug socket on the plug, then attach a short socket on your ratchet then just sneek it back there. it literally took me 3 minutes to do that plug but it took me probably 2 hours of messing around until i thought to do it that way. i also used the tr55 plugs but gapped them at .040 because i read on here that it was better.

I just bought an 8 pack of TR6 NGK plugs. So if they have the little cardboard protecting them they are pre gapped?

I am using the GMPP wires. They looked a lot better than the MSD's and cost less.
The first time that I did the plugs was when we did the LTs so it was pretty easy because nothing was in the way. The other time, I pre threaded the back 2 plugs into each head while the heads were in the box still and put em on the car with the plugs on there.

It's easier to pull the heads to do a plug change.

Some old hot rodders recommend bringing down the gap by .005 for every extra 50hp you make over stock. That is unless you have already changed to a different style/heat range plug.

A/C Delco Iridium Is What I Use. I Just Like The Idea Of Only Having To Change Them Every 100k (Actually Around 35k-40k but that's just me) When I Get The Work done to The TA I Will Be Getting NGK's

There shouldn't be any need to deviate from the stock gap unless you are running boost of high compression.

The stock coil-on-plug system is very powerful, and can easily support high horsepower engines. Most old "hot rodders" are accustomed to distributor systems with weak OEM style coils, which will run out of juice unless you lower the gap in performance applications.

+1 on the swivel extension for the back plug--it'll save you some skin on your knuckles

never tried 8th plug from underneath, i just removed the coil bracket, AIR **** and climbed on the engine bay. put a knee on either side of the air filter and reach on in there with a 1" ext. and a swivel if i remember right. after my arm looked like a rotty used it for a chew toy though.
