Tomorrow I plan to look at a 98 T/A any suggestions on what to look for it has 30000 miles, my main concern is rust (a ls1 with 30000 miles should last for atleast another 80k miles) where would you suggest me to look for rust? I also plan to look at the airbag on the passenger side, it looks like there is rust around it from the pictures but I won't know till tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions in advance

Check the rocker panels and under the doors for rust, and also the undercarriage. Both bumpers are plastic so no worries there. So youre saying the passenger airbag has rust around it???
Sounds weird to me cuz the dash is not made of metal...

Also rust around the airbag isnt possible, there isnt anything there to rust that I can think of. The main place to check for rust is the undercarriage like other people said. Check the driveshaft, rear end, etc.

How do u figure an LS1 with 30k will last another 80k? Kind of a strange number to pick... what happens at 110k?
