Default First time mods

I have a 99 ws6. Im new to the whole performance mods world and looking for all the help i can get. Here is what ive had done so far. SLP lid, ls6 intake, kooks headers, magnaflow exaust system, comp cam very close to the ms3 specs, 2800-3200 stall. All work was done at a local performance shop. Car dyno'd at 401 rwhp. This is clearly the strongest car i have ever owned but dosent even break the tires the i try to get into it. I honestly think the car needs to be re tuned. Please help.

400rwhp seems very high for those mods, but take dyno numbers with a grain of salt. Could have a huge cam in it making a ton of peak whp? Is the car cammed? Post a dyno sheet and we can go from there.

So you have a 400rwhp LS1 with a ~3000-ish stall and from a dead stop you can't break the tires free? You running ET Drags on the street? LOL.

That does seem odd. I currently have two mostly stock LS1s with stock stalls and 2.73 gears, and either will break the tires free from a dead stop. And that's with good 275mm & 285mm tires too. My 360rwhp WS6 with a 3500 stall would roast the tires from a stop, and still break them free even at a 35mph roll.

PS, those dyno numbers seem very good (and a little on the high side) for the mods you have listed. I doubt a retune would yield any better results, unless that dyno operator was high at the time.

Are you complaining cause you cant break the tires loose?! Most people post the complete opposite. You should be happy. Take it to the track, see what it can do.

I can smoke the tires froma dead stop very easily, i was refering to while crusin at 35mph. I dnt believe the company that did the work has been honest with me cause we have had problems from the very start. Im gonna take it to another shop to see what the numbers are then. Based on wat i have already done wat else can i do to get closer to 440- 450

The car is putting down nice numbers for an auto. To reach your 450 mark some good heads and bigger injectors(42#ers) should get you pretty close. As far as you not being to break the tires loose at 35mph, well I think thats a dead spot for the auto guys. Try a lower roll around 20-25 maybe. Im an M6 so I'm not totally sure on where the auto guys can spin while rolling with a similar setup as yours.
