on the street with factory everything, a STI will get a cobra up to a certain MPH.
they both trapped under 110 and over 100. i've seen a 13.40 and a 13.20 out of both cars on the same day at the track...the cobra is the faster car, just not by much.
I wish GM would build a Boost-made engine and sell it as a crate.

Thanks. I know about the differences but also thought the WS6 and SS had a different manifold. The minimal hp from the exhaust is probably countered by the extra weight and the differences in the sporadic output of the various LS-1's. As for the STI, it will not take a Cobra. Period. That article is pretty much propoganda. Launch it at 6 grand and you might beat the Cobra in the first 60 feet (on the street) but he'll reel the STI in real quick. STI's are fun cars and all but really have to be ragged on to get them going.

Taken from supercars.net...
"The standard engine on the NSX is an all-aluminum, 90-degree, 3.2-liter (3179 cc), dual overhead cam, 4 valve-per-cylinder V-6 that produces 290 hp at 7100 rpm and 224 lb-ft of torque at 5500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission. Redline for this engine is 8000 rpm."
"0 - 60 mph 5.7 seconds" "Curb Weight 1430 kg / 3153 lbs"

edmunds.com says top speed of 175mph. Here is a quote from a test...
"Take for instance its engine. With 290 horsepower and 224 pound-feet of torque, the 3.2-liter dual-overhead cam V6 is hardly a match for the 400-plus horsepower V8s and V10s of the Americans. Then consider that you can now purchase a Nissan 350Z with a 287-hp V6 for less than a third of the price and the NSX's popularity looks even more imperiled.
In its defense, even with its relatively modest horsepower, the lightweight aluminum body allows the NSX to turn some pretty impressive numbers at the track. We clocked a 0-to-60 time of 5.2 seconds and a quarter-mile run of 13.6 seconds at a little over 104 mph. Not enough to outrun any of the American muscle, but still quick nonetheless. (It's also worth noting that despite extensive use of aluminum construction, the NSX is still 35 pounds heavier than the Corvette Z06.)"

The NSX is more on a Corvette level than a Camaro level.
