Anybody know if you can program a GM transmitter to work on 2 cars? I would love for mine to work on both my car and my truck

The guy at Abraham Chev in Tampa says you can, at least that's what he told me when I replaced my lost keys. He said you go thru the same programing with both vehicles or change the programming if you wanted. I haven't tried it, I asked cuase I don't want my car stolen with my lost keys I bought my new romote from Chevrolet and not an off market.
