You got my private message?? Thats not a bad deal on the cam and springs at all. You will for sure notice a difference in how your car runs for sure. But dont take the numbers of the dyno to heart. The true test is at the track and you should with those mods crack close to 12.6's I would guess. To better your odds think about doing a 3.73 gear, this will actaully show less power on the dyno but you will accelerate faster and will run better times.

Have you at all thought about the MSD coils? I know for sure they show gains as I have several buddies that have them on their cars and picked up a tenth in the quarter. They arnt cheap tho
You will not pick up any HP with the MSD coils...they are a waste of money...they might be pretty but a can of red spray paint will do the same thing..on top of that they have some reliablity issues too ... save your $$$ and use it for a mod that does produce HP/TQ ... If you do not beleive me check around and you will find out ....

coils are not usually a mod that would show any power, you are correct there. But they can improve other things that lead to better times.

The rearend has 3.50's now w/posi so to stay on cheap side, will prob not change. 55 chevy is heavy so 12's would be great w/ what little mods I have.

What other things? ..... the coils supply the spark to the air/fuel mixture to ignite it....the GM coil on plug design is hot enough that you could substitute a piece of wood for a sparkplug and it would still run (just joking) ... I do not care what type of coil you hook up to a LS series engine you are not going to see any improvement in HP/TQ or ET over the OEM coils that came on the car ... unless you have a coil/coils that have gone bad....nuff said ..

With the compression your missing from a standard LS6 motor, I would say itll make a little less than 400HP and as heavy as shoe boxs are I HIGHLY doubt it will run 12's.

I would get whatever coils you can get the cheapest and put the money into the long tube swap headers that im sure are expensive.

Super Secret stuff. I honestly dont know what other things, I was just saying that swaping coils has an impact on how an engine performs. And from what I have seen they have run better and made more rwhp then stock ls1 coils.

The only place that you may have seen a claim that they perform better than the stock OEM coils is in a MSD commercial..it is well known that the msd coils have some reliability issues (there are threads on this forum that cover that subject) .. and there have been dyno comparisons that show no HP/TQ gain ... there is no coil on the market that out performs the GM OEM coils...I am running some OEM coils that have 208,000 + miles on them and they still work as good as new ... as I said before if you check around you will find out what I am telling you is true...call some well known LS series engine builders and you will hear the same...
