undercarriage cover (key word UNDER)
yes theres a k-member thats sort of important. yes it has the skid plate. Every car i have had in the past has had a plastic undercarriage cover. Sort of there to keep salt, water, and rocks, or whatever you can imagine off of the bottom of your engine.
This is my first american car, and my first car without an undercarriage cover. hence i was wondering if this is normal or not.

Not if you mean a complete "plate". There are splash shields, and inner fenders, and fascias, but no (VW Bug or F1) type cover. Personally I'd rather not have one - more stuff to take off for maint, and not a real aero factor at most legal speeds.
Look at another similar car to compare yours.
Just curious - what cars you had before, and why (finally) an "'Meriken Muscle car"?

cool thanks emarkay. thats a valid point about making matinence easier. the reason i came up with this question is because my accessory belts keep getting moist being outside b/c i can't garage it. this is causing them to squeak and i was thinking an undercarraige cover might help keep the moisture off of them. anyways thanks again
my first car was a POS nissan maxima se with a zillion miles. i then "inherited" a 1993 black lexus sc400 with all the options which i stuck some moda r6 rims on. cool car for the bling factor but a sluggish v8, limited aftermarket parts, and multiple electrical problems sent me looking elsewhere. I found a trans am
i havn't ever looked back since i drove my car home. luxory foreign cars are cool if u like falling asleep at the wheel.

dmnspd: i've heard that but mine is really weird. they only squeak on days with a good amount of humidity. belt spray makes them slip like hell.
Since i probably will have to replace them where is the best place price wise to locate some new belts?
