263,000 miles on my Z28, bought it with 258,000 miles on it and the trans lost the 3-4 about a month later, rebuilt the trans, been adding mods to it every since. bolt-ons, stall and now doing heads and cam.

Get a forged kit off ebay for 1500 and rebuild the motor. Then you can put turbo/nos/supercharger

Don't let numbers on a meter worry you, just get out there and enjoy it!
I'd bet that thing has plenty of life left in it! I'd take a high mileage car over a beaten and abused low miler any day of the week.

The odometer means nothing, it's all about how it was cared for. If the rest of the car is nice and well cared for, chances are high the drivetrain was treated the same way!

great news guys! i changed the oil from m1 5w30 to Vavoline highmilage 10w40 and my oil pressure is back up to 40psi strong! my motor is quieter and i also got 3 exhaust leaks fixed! it sounds soooo much better. i thought i use to have a lifter tick but it was the combo on the thin oil and the exhaust leaking around the clamps......

I say enjoy it and do what you want to it...if it runs good I bet it's fine...my car has 193K on it...it had 87K on it when I bought it, it see's 6K rpm a few times a day, and it goes REALLY REALLY well for a car with long tubes, true duals, and an LS6 intake on it...I see no reason why yours can't too.

I'd say if you have another car and this isn't your daily driver, mod it how you want. When and if the engine goes boom, rebuild it then. Of course, if this is your dd, I'd probably go ahead and rebuild it when funds allow. Hell of a price. Congrats.

I pushed this car (my old 2000 M6 Z28 hard top) to 226K miles...and sold it running just fine. I actually didn't want to, but I could NOT pass up the deal I got on the 2010 M6 SS I'm driving now.

My car ran absolutely fine at 226K miles...the oil pressure was always perfectly fine...and it never even leaked anything...it seemed like it smoked a little at full throttle, but it saw 6K rpm a LOT of times every day.

Last I heard, the new owner is still commuting with it with the same engine in it.

Mike , the cars the ***** and still gets comments on how mint it is and must be low miles lol , getting real close to 230k (229,600??) may hit it before it gets put up all depends on when they salt here-yes its nice enough its not getting subjected to a Maine winter under my watch unless another car breaks down , plus i dont think the nitto's I put on it will care much for snow.

Mileage is really not a good indicator of wear , I will take a 200k highway commuter car over an 80k around town car anyday , they are cheaper , less rusty ( all the crud falls off on the highway) usually less door dings , tears from getting in & out ,etc...heck 72 mph is about 1600 rpm with m6/342's , its just off idle lol its not working at all

My daily driver fwd 3800/sc regal has 216k and gets similar comments on its condition and still rides on original struts , front end parts ,etc..and its made literally hundreds of low to mid 13 sec passes on dr's with original stock internals long block & transaxle ( bolt on car)

GM engines will last a long time if properly maintained

HAHA glad to hear it's at a good home...sounds like you haven't driven it enough. I've put 29K miles on my 2010 (bringing it up to 35K) since I sold that car.
