Default Differences between 01 & 02?

Just curious what the differences are if any between the two years (ie: blocks, head castings, etc.)

Thanks,
Eric

02 has no EGR valve. Makes working on it (changing plugs) much easier....

'02 supposedly has a different piston ring design. The pistons were also coated. I believe these were meant to lessen oil consumption & piston slap problems.

JRP has a couple of posts with an extensive list of all the differences. Do some searches for them.

Believe the percentage of cars which received a LS6 block is higher for the 02s. I still didn't end up with one, build date August 01.

7. Some 2002 model F-bodies came with a revised rear view mirror that had the map light buttons on the bottom, rather than the front.

Some of the 2001 models had this revised mirror as well...
My 2001 has the buttons on the bottom. I did not really notice till I read the JRP post. ( to JRP for compiling all the info for that post)
