I cant here your sound clip (Im assuming its a sound clip). But I can tell you that lt's + ory + lm1 is loud and annoying as ****. Only time this combo sounds good is at idle and WOT. Just my opinion of course. I had this on my 2001 when I first bought it. First mod I did was remove it.

my car got a lot of compliments and fellow lsx owners were shocked when i told them it had stock ws6 exhaust wit gutted cats. the head/cam with -7* overlap really woke it up tho

gmmg would be the only one to replace mine

http://www.ls1sounds.com/

Go there and listen to all of the options. I personally think the GMMG setup sounds the best, but I went with AR headers / off-road Y-pipe / Magnaflow catback due to price and being all stainless steel (I live in the rust belt).

as far as the exhaust sound goes the cam controls when(in relation to when the piston reaches top dead center), how long(time), and how far it opens. The pitch and volume will change according the amount of area is available for air to flow around the valve and the valve seat and bowl (valves enclosure area). the sound will also change if 1. your getting a butt load of area in a short time or 2. little lift for a long amount of time 3. both of the previous or neither. Another factor is how long after the explosion, the longer you wait for the valve be opened to let the crack to resonate through the pipe, the more attenuation. . hope that helps, imo thats some of the biggest factors in how cam effects sound not to be confused with lope or idle quality.

Headers will greatly affect sound due to shape and accoustic property of the material of the tubing (aka frequency response will changed) very different than manifolds especially the later cast manifolds.

is it just me or does AFR change the sound more than the cam? when i leaned the car out it sounded like ferrari F1 car.

+2. The SLP loudmouth sounds like utter crap. It is to loud with the stock manifolds + cats...add headers and an ORY and it is deafening.

My hooker cat back sounds great. Can't wait to get lts and ory. Oh and when I did my cam with stock exhaust it completely changed the way it sounded.

Chambered Sweet Thunder's, dumped before the rear axle. Hands down the best sounding exhaust on an LS1.
