Default Thinking about buying 1999 SS Covertible, opinions needed

Hi all,

I am new here and this is my first post. The reason I joined is I am thinking about buying a 1999 convertible SS with 45k miles on it. I checked out the car last night, but I forgot to check the WU8 code on the driver door and forgot to test the AC and the power window. The seller wants $11k for it.

I test drove the car last night, and it still pulled pretty hard, the tranny shift smoothly, and skip shift has been eliminated.

What do you guys think? Some of my friends thought the price is a little high, but a 45k miles 99 SS convertible is pretty rare, and the bottom line is I am just drooling over the fact that it has a pretty low miles and there were no sign of abuse.

Thanks,

EDIT: I owned a 94 Z28 before, but this is gonna be my first LS1 car.

No idea about verts, I would obviously make sure it dont leak (put the top up and have the owner spray it with a damn hose, dont take his word for it)

basic stuff; rear end whine, oil level/color, clutch grabs hard, any mods?

Price is dependant on location. That's a fair price for such a car in my area. In the rust belt states (and especially a big city where prices are always higher for everything) you'll pay more for a nice car. Many are ruined by salt.

i live in socal, so no rust problem here.

Although, I can buy a 2002 with 12k miles, SS with t-tops for $15k.
