I have been looking and read, looking and reading more, and looking and reading some more.. and I'm still

So I know I'll need to do some tuning for my project (LQ4/LQ9 & 6L80E).

I have been reading about the various tuning/tuners out there.. I thought LS1 Edit, but then on another forum someone said no.. use the EFI Live or HP Tuners! So I looked at both of those and I'm not sure.. Nothing now and days is inexpensive and I just want my money to be spent wisely.

I have no tuning experience with the newer Gen 3 or 4 engines at all, done plenty on the older SBC engines.. The 99' LS1 motor I have was a snap to put into operation, basic plug and play.. but I haven't done any tuning on it and I have it tore down to do a rebuild on in the future. I have a 2000 GMC Sierra Z71 with 187K on it that is my DD.. So which ever program I pick I could connect it up and see how the program operates and maybe do some light tuning on it to get my feet wet..

So there it is in a nutshell!

Any advice would be a huge help!
