I have a 98 z28 with a few bolt on's and a stock gear ratio...I'm planning on buying 342 gears but don't know which ones to get. Also looking to get a stall but also don't know which one will be the right one to get with 342 gears. can anyone with some real knowledge help since i will be purchasing based on recommendations...Thanks

 

Yank is always a safe bet. Richmond and Motive also make awesome gears. What are u lookin for exactly though? Are u runin 2.73s right now? If u already have 3.23s stock i would recommend getting a set of 3.73s, still a good highway gear in a 4 speed, and u wouldnt notice much difference if any at all between a 3.23 and a 3.42. I run 4.10s and an SS4000 stall by yank, but im heavy into drag racing. If u are lookin for a street car, a set of 3.73s and a yank SS3600, i only say 3600 cause alot of guys get the 3200 and then wish they went alittle bigger after they installed it cause its not nearly as bad as they thought it would be. I love my 4000 on the street.

 

Man i just broke my rear end into peices so now im gettin 3.73's an then my trans was shot so im gettin that taken care of with a 3600 stall all thanks to jonny over at pacific coast transmissions i hope it runs and feels way better then that stock crap next tho will b suspension

 

A lot of good converters out there Yank,Circle D,etc. Id stay somewhere around 3600-4000 stall.. as far as gears are concerned id go w/ Motives.

 

yank converter and 3.73 gears,call yank tell them your mods they will tell you the best stall for your app.
