Confirming my concerns with alternator
I know the gauges on the dash are there just for reference, that they are not exact. The more accessories I turn on the lower the volt meter drops especially when the A/C is running.
I take it that the regulator is going bad. When the car is first start and is running its warm up the meter shows close to 14 then drops to 12-13.
What alternator would be the best one to get? I plan on installing an aftermarket stereo and at some point MSD ignition system.
Thanks

The alternator is designed to maintain battery charge not supply voltage for accesories. when the voltage on the meter drops then the battery is nearly fully charged. you should take it to someone to load test it to be sure. the factory output is usually enough to run any stereo you put in as long as you run a capacitor for the amp. i have the msd coil packs and love them.
