Hi, I wonder what differences there is between the LS1 in the Corvette and the Trans am. In the Corvette it says to be 345 hp and in the WS6 325 hp!?

Is there any differences in the engines "hardware" or is it only softwere. Or is there not any differences at all??

An LS1 is an LS1, they all make approx 345-350 HP no matter what vehicle they were originally installed in. So don't believe the GM ratings.

They were underrated to preserve the corvette. Alls ls1s are 350hp engines and will dyno 285-320 at the wheels.

only difference would be the ls6 intake and the 01-02 fbodies and on the z06 vettes 243 heads .. but mostly no one keeps them stock .. so yea about the same hp

There are many more differences than that between the years and between C5 and F-body (cam, heads, exhaust, intakes, throttle bodies). But yes, overall power output is roughly the same for all LS1s.

And the 243 heads were not the only thing that made an LS6 different from an LS1, also the LS6 makes quite a bit more power stock.
