Default whats up guys!

Is it a good idea to put cam and heads in an automatic 98 Z28 with 128,000 miles. I'm going to put a cam, but not sure about heads. I'm thinking its too much work for an old engine.

Second question is, if I use Mopar combustion chamber cleaner would the engine lose compression? Thanks

alot of people heads and cam with more miles then you.I don't feel you will lose compression, you will be removing carbon build up that effects knock and denotation.

Run a compression or leak-down test and see how the motor is. I'll bet it's in fine shape...

I was kinda wondering the same question.. I got a 2000 z28 with 117,000 and im planning on pulling the motor and tranny this winter for a H/C install. Im gona tear the motor down to clean everything and just kinda do a visual inspection on it all.

I would think as long as you dont put heads on it that will bump up the compression too much your bottom end should hold together well, i would do hardened pushrods and some good double beehive springs with the cam, and a new oil pump and timing chain.
