Default newbie needs advice

this is the low down on my 02 ss. i purchased the 02 back in may for 6500, was informed that the ls1 was removed and an ls2 was installed. as for mods this is what the seller told me it had: slp cai, headers ory, bullet muff, shaner S3 tb, 3:73's out back, ls6 waterpump and ls6 oil pump. was also informed that the SS ran a best of 12.5 w/drag radials. took the ss to the local track for a night out got a best time of 13.0 at 109.68mph and hit the rev limiter was not manual shifting either. took the ss to get retuned while there had the ss dyno'd. numbers were
309 hp
331 tq

the engine is a 6.0 removed from an 06 sliverado 2500hd

i am i missing something here, i have heard of other f-bodies running better times with less.please help....

LS2 is a 6.0 aluminum block with 243 heads which are about 64cc. This would have been found in a Vette or second year GTO. A Silverado HD should of had a cast iron 6.0 with 317 72cc heads and dished (low compression) pistons. If it was an LQ9, which is the high output version, then it would have flat top pistons and have higher compression but still should have the 317 heads. Both of the truck engines are cast iron.

Uh...something's wrong here. Stock LS1's probably put down that kind of power. You sure the motor isn't an LS1? I hope you verified that the motor was an LS2 before you bought the car...

My long elaborate post above was basically stating that odds are he was lied to and its not an LS2. I just didn't want to point it out directly.

Why do you want an LS2? Just bc your car was supposed to come with one? The LQ9 has plenty of power potential, don't give up on it yet.

I'm pretty sure he means "Does the OP want an LS2 because he thought he bought his car with one"

Is your car an auto? Did you say it was hitting the limiter? I would say something is wrong. You do know its not supposed to hit the limiter right?
