Shortly after washing my car, I opened my hood and water started dripping, and I noticed that there are puddles on top of my intake manifold where the injectors are. Prior to noticing the water puddles, i started the car and it started up fine with no problem.
But, now I am a little worried, is this normal to have water puddles on top of the intake manifold after a car wash or those water puddled there because i opened the engine bay? I have heard horror stories about hydro-lock because of the water puddles on top on the intake manifold.
anyone can share their opinion on this.
thanks,
Sid.

It.is.fine, no worries. You can wash your engine bay.. use high pressure and keep the car running. Cover the comp and fuse box up with a bag, don't get them close to belt. Don't spray a long time on electrical connections or the alt.
I wash mine about once a month using engine degreaser at the manual car wash.
It takes water getting sucked up directly into the intake to hydrolock it.. like running through a very deep puddle.
