ls6 intake
What year car do you have? The '01-'02's already have the LS6 intake installed. Otherwise, if you're looking at an intake, there's a few signs:
-Lack of EGR hole on top (doesn't necessarily mean it's an LS6, you can get LS6 intakes with EGR, but they're a lot rarer)
-Bottom of the intake. The LS1 intake is dished downward on the bottom, kind of hard to explain without a picture. The LS6 intake is flat on the bottom with fins criss-crossing along the flat part.
The bottom one is the most reliable way to check.

^ He has got it right. Best way is to look at the bottom and verify which it is. SLP sold an LS6 intake with the EGR hole in it so that is not always a dependable way of identifying an intake.
Part # is ALWAYS the way to tell. Its on the intake, you may have to move some of the harness and need a flash light but its there.
It could be a F body or Corvette Issued LS6 intake.

97-00: 12556333 = LS1
01-02: 12561182 = LS1/6 (Fbody & C5)
02+: 12573572 = C5 (LS1 & 6)
