Talking ???400hp LQ4 what do i need to make this happen

hi i am am a NEWBIE TO THE LS WORLD.can any one tell me what mods i can do 2 my 2001 truck LQ4.i would like to get somewere close to 400 crank horsepower.i will add just about anything,intake,injectors,fuel rail,throttlebody,or what ever.keep in mind it is a truck motor,water pump and belt location in stock location.4l60e trans and needs to be able to run on pump gas. crappy 91 octane.building pro turing 69 camaro.anything would help.

You basically answered your own question. Intake,throttlebody and a good tune would def make the 400 mark, aftermarket intakes are pricey however, if your mechanically inclined a cam swap is also a great way to make power and probably cheaper than doing the intake and t/b as fast intakes and the like run in the $1000 range easy.

You dont have to do too much, grab some nice longtubes, a decent exhaust system, and throw in a cheap ls6 cam and springs, and a ls6 intake

the fast intake will add some power,look at a EPS cam,and do long tub heads and a good cat back exhaust.you can get a mail order tune from frost .have you been to the ls truck forum ?
