I'm writing a definition paper for school, and my topic is SS. I'm going for the people who don't have a SS but yet still put the emblem on their car. And what makes a SS, a SS. Any ideas?

The ONLY thing that makes a SS a Super Sport is.....
an RPO code.
Putting parts on a car to make it look like a SS or WS.6 is cool but I do not re badge to be fake about it. My car is a NON WS.6 but it has the correct rims and hood, spoiler came from factory as the high deck. But as far as badges are concerned, it does not have anything.

Please try a search on this, it's been covered too many times. The FAQ sticky at the top of this section will help as well.
As for people who make their own "SS", it's custom. It's not really an SS, so there is no specific definition.
