Unhappy Autometer Temp Gauge ?????

Where are you guys hooking up an aftermarket temp gauge and dont say use 2277 autometer adaptor ,, doesnt work ,, any other choices or can you re wire factory sensor ??? any ideas would be helpfull

Passenger side head.....yes a 2277 adapter with a 2259 sender!

^^^ Thats correct.
FWIW make it easy on yourself, take the plug out of the head and install this when the engine is cool and you can squeeze the radiator hose. Keep the rad cap on. This is how I did mine and maybe a few tiny drips of coolant came out.
I've read where people drain the coolant, take the plug out with the rad cap off, etc. Makes a mess.

okay so this 2259 is diferent from the one (sensor) that comes with autometer electrical gauge ? correct because that one is to deep , and thanks not worried about mess I have this motor in a Dragster

ok Guys Thanks I had the Adaptor it didnt work with normal (electric) sensor, So Machist me drilled out to fit , then treaded wall was to thin ,, once tightened it pelled apart ,, ergh,,

I was going to mention that too, a few guys on here drilled out the adapter and said it works. I didn't because if it broke on the road I'd be stranded, and fixing that wouldn't be easy with it in the car.

Ok guys Im back , have everything installed perfectlly, Justy one more issue any secrets to getn the Air pockets out of Ls motors I thought it would be easy I have radiator located about where factory would be slightly tilted inward Rad filler neck high than the heads remotely located of course , just cant seem to cool down hot water in motor cold water in Rad, brand new moroso electric water pump,,please help thanks
