I had mine set at 50% firmness, I had the engine tune, and set the rev limiter at 6200 RPM. I had the stock wheels on the car so i left the tires on stock setting. I selected the ZR rated tire option for the top speed limiter and selected i think Gu5 RPO code for 3.23 gears. Car shifted really good with those settings. To be honest all that hypertech does is smoothen your shifting and makes it feel like your car is faster. I sold it for 50 bucks the other day at a car meet. I could i made more than that but i felt like i would be ripping the kid off. Diff. go with a real tune the handhelds are very limited and dont help very much.

dont **** with the shift points and this should be a decent tune and wont cause you to be hitting the limiter, i had this tuner and with this tune it worked pretty effectively, as soon as you mess with shift points and stuff all it does it **** your tranny up and make your car run worse
The BEST thing that you can do with one of these tuners is to change shift points. That, and fan settings, are the ONLY useful things the HPP offers IMO. I've used it many times on various cars to up the shift points with great results. The stock rev limiter is 6200rpm, and the stock shifts usually occur around 5900-6000rpm, which is a bit low. If you up them about 1mph on the 1-2 shift, you should not need to change the limiter at all, and it should shift around ~6100rpm without issues. I've personally done this without a problem.
Now, what I have seen people have issues with is getting their shift points correct using the HPP to both compensate for gearing changes AND change WOT shift points. But if you're working with stock gears and stock tire size, this feature works just fine.
FYI, I would not recommend upping the rev limiter much with stock valvesprings, they are not designed for it. Just because it allows 6600rpm does not mean you should use it (you won't make more power up there with a stock cam anyway). You'll probably be ok with 6300, MAYBE 6400, but I wouldn't push it, unless you don't mind the risk.
Overall, these types of tuners are not usually the best option. If you don't have a dyno tuner close, then try the mail order option - I hear great things about Frost.
It has had a couple of Nitrous backfires in it's time and taken out a couple of intake manifolds and a lid. He doesn't run a window switch so it over sprayed into the next gear. ouch.

I did not know that about the valve springs ive always set it at 64 jus because it was in between the red not thinking anything about that. Im about to go out here and set rev at 63 , shift point +1 , and see how it works for me and get on here and reply . Whats the most anybody thinks i could get for tuner? Having nitrous gears and stall going on soon im definately gonna go with frost

I've bought and sold these tuners for anywhere between $75-125 depending on the market at the time.

Ok so i tried 6300 and shift points +1 it redlined shifting out of first but not bad so i went back and set it at 6300 and left shift points alone and shifted fine. But then i set it back to stock and it didnt really fill any different so probably by tomorrow it will be in the classifieds for sale haha hope nobody reads this that is looking for a tuner. Thanks for everybodies help on showing me how crappy this thing is lol frost it is.. but if anybody could recommend good stall , street/strip cam size and gears it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys .

I have 275/40/18's on back which is 26.66 tire height so from wat somebody said in another post i set it at 26.75. And also ive been hearing my gear ratio is 2:73 then i hear 3:23 which is it ? I looked on internet for specs but didnt find anything being on my phone limits me .

you should have a sticker list on your driver side door with RPO codes on it.
GU2 = 2.73's
GU5 = 3.23's
I had 2.73's in my Z28 and still ran low 13's with only full exhaust and street tires on a 2.1 60 foot time.

I think your shifting issues with the HPP are because of the tire height changes, and possibily having the wrong gear ratio programmed. I can tell you first hand that with stock gears and stock tire height (and programmed as such), the shift point changes work just fine, and you could easily go +1 with a 6300rpm rev limit (or even with a 6200rpm rev limit).
I must've missed the fact that you were also programming in a different tire height. I have heard of people having issues with HPPs when trying to get shift points correct with a gear and/or tire height change.

Yea i went with what a know it all friend said that i had 273 so im definately thinking thats probably what my problem was. And for the longest time i ran my stock wheels with the programmer until recently but i set it correctly now
