Is this a common problem?
I have a 2000 TA with 2 12'' subs that came in the car. And the speakers in my back seat dont play music, the ones in the front & trunk do though. And my friend also has a 2000 TA, and he had the same problem. He fixed his by wiring them to an amp, but has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it.
Thanks in advanced for any help/suggestions.

It's not a problem, it's by design. the speakers in the back seat sides are not full range speakers, they are subwoofers. You can pull the wires from the hatch speakers and run them to the rear seat speakers if you want to have full range sound back there, the hatch speakers are pretty useless anyway.

Ive never heard of this issue either...i replaced everything for the stereo I use the front door and the sail +the hatch speakers for the voice, and I have a 4 chanel amp hooked up to them. And I have two 10inch subs with a 2channel amp for the bass...and I love it..10x better then stock..

most people will disconnect the speakers you mentioned and connect them to run subs.... check behind panels to see if that is all that is required. sounds like they are disconnected and wired to run subs..
