Default Header Y Pipe Install

I've got Headers and and ORY on the way and am debating about installing them myself. I'm relatively mechanical inclined and have tools but I don't have a garage.

What do you guys think would be a reasonable price to install some pacesetter LT's and an ORY? Price per hour $75...I'm thinking like $300.

Does that sound like fair or would it take longer/shorter?

300-400 is prob the norm. I strongly suggest you change your motor mounts while your in there, makes the job easier and will prevent future headaches.

I just got a rough quote from a shop as well for installing LTs and a catted Y. I would prefer to install them myself but there aren't any reputable shops around my area that will tune cars that the shop hasn't worked on. The shop quoted me about $450 to install plus $350 or so for a tune.

See if there are any Do It Yourself type shops in your area where you can rent a lift/bay for a while.

Do it your self!! I just did mine and not worth the cash to pay to have done. If you have good set of tools and jackstands its no big deal.

Its a relatively easy install, very straight forward. The hardest part to me is trying to get the front of the car high enough up off the ground to get the headers in. Other then its just getting stuff out of the way. Our labor charge for header install is right at $400.
