try putting the pulley in the oven for about 20 minutes at 150-200 degrees. that should expand it enough so it slides on with minimal effort

We used the oven trick and also heated it with a torch and it eventually went on. Trying to put it back on with a shorter stock type crank bolt sounds kind of scary.

IMO your VERY lucky that you did not snap the Crank Bolt into the Crank Snout. Its very common to do so. I have resorted to making a simple tool which is a threaded rod, cut to length. A combo of stacked washes and 3 nuts which basically engages all the crank threads and with a little oil (lube) I can draw the Pulley on with the tool and its safe.

Glad you did not have an issue.

Hi,
make sure that you have the damper fully seated.measure from the snout to hub- distance 3/32-11/64 inch. They make a tool for installation ease........try
parts store to borrow........tighten to 240 ft. Pounds with new bolt and good luck with your project.double check your work to avoid no-no's.........have a blessed day....jim
PS: the above post is correct and works well with your install as stated...
