lil advice crank shaft pulley bolt

i need a lil advice i just finished my cam swar on my ls1 ws6 i got the valve springs,rocker arms, push rods, and everything else back in the motor as i have been directed but the thing is i got a new crank pulley bolt but i cant get the pulley on deep enough to thread the pulley bolt bcz i dont have a 1 inch extended bolt , is there anywhere i could find one or another way to get the pulley back on?

nvm i got a 1inch extended crank bolt from a buddy a PUR performance in st charles , mo saved me there now im no to installing a yank 2800 torque converter today shouldnt be to bad then my sts turbo

IMO your VERY lucky that you did not snap the Crank Bolt into the Crank Snout. Its very common to do so. I have resorted to making a simple tool which is a threaded rod, cut to length. A combo of stacked washes and 3 nuts which basically engages all the crank threads and with a little oil (lube) I can draw the Pulley on with the tool and its safe.

Hi,
make sure that you have the damper fully seated.measure from the snout to hub- distance 3/32-11/64 inch. They make a tool for installation ease........try
parts store to borrow........tighten to 240 ft. Pounds with new bolt and good luck with your project.double check your work to avoid no-no's.........have a blessed day....jim
