question on installing power steering pump pulley
is it possible to put the LS1 ps pump pulley on too far?? i'm using the ps pump installation tool from advance auto, everything was going fine. but there still looked like 3/8" on the shaft so i kept cranking it down.
it made a pop. did i break something? i'm reading some instructions on how to install a power steering pump pulley and it says to not be concerned with overtightening because the installer can't be tightened any further once everything is flush. sooooo....is that true or am i missing something here?

Thanks man. I think the noise was just noise. I forgot to lube up the shaft so the pop was similar to a squeak of one dry surface rubbing against another dry surface. I pulled it back off and will lube it up and start over.
For anyone else doing this for the first time, please don't forget to put some transmission fluid or moly lube on the shaft. This will prevent binding.
