Default changing plugs

Im changing my spark plugs on my t/a and i got the driver side plugs out no problem but the passenger side on the other hand is a different story.. is there any tricks i should know about to get these things out a litttle easier or do i just have to keep busting knuckles? ANY advise would be some help. Also for a stock motor on nitrous what plugs does anybody recommend?

Thanks for any help!

I saw a write-up on this earlier today, but everyone said with a simple metric set, swivels, and a few extensions it should be fairly simple. Unsure about what plugs to get with nitrous.

Yea i have the swivels and everything but it is just so crammed in there on the passenger side of the motor that its hard to get my hands down in there to get the socket on square with the plug. The a/c is in the way , and for the plug on the far back of the motor it almost looks dang near impossible to get to. Where is the write up on this i would like to check it out.

Take off the coil packs, they come off with 5 bolts (one is hidden at the back of the engine bay, reach back you will find it). Then it will be 10,000 times easier. I have taken 6 hours with the coil packs on, and 1 hour with it off. That is worth the hassle of taking off the coil packs.

If u have stock manifolds... do the back one from the bottom, its a bitch.

If you have headers crouch carefully on your battery it makes the pay two simple. Lol sounds dumb but works best for me.

taking your coil packs/brackets off makes it much easier. i still have AC but i have headers and no AIR so it's a little easier but just remove anything simple that's getting in your way and you shouldn't have too much of a problem.

Leave the coil bracket allen head under the cowl off they are a bitch and it will be easier in the future. For a small shot go down one step to a colder NGK TR6 plug..

Really? Hmm ... you cant take a plug back after being used can you? I only put 4 of the 8 in and they were dirt cheap so i might just take the other 4 back and get all of the tr6s . If what your saying is true i dont want to go through all the hassle of putting them in and not being the right ones. Do you know by any chance how much the tr6 cost? I only paid 17$ for all eight of the 55s

tr6 for small shot nitrous, tr5/tr55 (same plug, diff. gap) for non nitrous.

If I recall correctly, the TR6 and the TR55 cost basically exactly the same. Also, you will probably want to run about a .035" gap on the TR6's. You did not say how big of a shot you want, but that is generally right around where people run them.

If you are going for a 150-175+ people generally try and run the BR7EF? plug. I have heard people complaining about cold starts/running slower times NA with that plug though.

i bent a 3/4" box end wrench to get the rear plug from the top. just put the socket on the plug and put the wrench on the socket. works pretty good for me.

Well i got 7 of the 8 tr6s on . That last one on the back passenger side is just too difficult to get to from top or bottom. Im goin to have to take it to a friends later on to see if he knows what to do. Its wayy too cold with no heater to work on it any longer than i did haha.

I changed my #8 plug from underneath. I scraped up my arm on the heat shields but not really a big deal. This was my first attempt at a plug change on my 4th gen. The only thing I removed was the AIR tube thing on the pass. side exhaust manifold. Left all the coils in place. Not much help for you I know but hang in there, you'll figure it out. Good luck!
