Default Car doesnt pull like before?????

Well I installed a new 346ci with new H/C combo and the car ran great and felt real strong. Now that the motor has been on the car for about 3k miles I am not feeling it the same. The car use to feel real strong and and pull real hard when I would step on it going 50 or 60mph or any other mph below 60mph. Now the car seems to just accelerate and go, with really no strong and hard sensation like before. It used to throw me back in my seat real hard and now it just feels like it barely pulls nothing like before. I am thinking that it might be because of my stock transmission with a 3200vigi stall that might be going out. Transmission has about 160Kmiles so Im thinking that it might be my culprit. What do you guys think?? I have no SES light or anything.. just FYI

I would definately check the transmission. You might check the fluid and see what condition its in. With that many miles on it there is a good chance it is just on its way out.

I was highly surprised to see a 160k mile 4l60e still pulling anymore lol. I think it's definitely your issue lol. Most likely the clutches are slipping and you can't notice it bc of the converter.

A 4L60E with 160k behind a briskly driven stock ~350hp LS1 is going to be getting tired anyway. Add all the extra power and RPMs from an H/C setup to that, and I can see this being your problem.

Maybe the trans isn't downshifting any more. At 60mph it should be downshifting to 2nd when you go WOT. Maybe at this point, it's only going back to 3rd. That would make acceleration seem much weaker at that speed. Could also be slipping, even if it's in the right gear, as mentioned above.

Don't people generally stray away from building the 4L60E? I am a T-56 guy personally, but I thought that HCI/Auto cars generally went for the 4L80E?

Changing to an 80e is a PIA. Off the top of my head it requires a shorter DS and BFH mod to the tunnel to clear. Most streetcars are fine with a well built 60e

Is the motor reving and you just aren't getting the acceleration? You could have also laid some of the fins over in the converter. If installing a new tranny, I would have the converter cut/cleaned/inspected.

when I accelerate the car revs faster than before and accelerates slower too, also I notice that the car shifts gears at a higher RPM's now... I was thinking about building a 4l80 but those things are pretty damn expensive..lol.. I'm hoping with a good 4l60 that it would hold the power that my car is making...

No, a well built 4L60E is plenty for your average H/C setup.

Could be, I'd do some diagnosis before shotgunning an entire trans though.

Also, if it does in fact turn out to be trans related, cheap crappy converters can go out too...
