Default LS376/515 Oil Pressure

Just uncrated my new LS376/515 engine. In that packet that came with the engine GM states the engine oil pressure at idle is around 5 psi and at max speed 6600 rpm it is 28 psi. Have not starter the engine yet, but I thought this was extremely low. What oil pressure to the LS engine run at normally.

That seems extremely dangerous low. My 383 Is about 70PSI on cold startup and a lil over 40 when warmed and running, I have a melling 10296 high volume pump. But my stock engine and pump ran around 30ish or so if I remember correctly, when warmed and idling. I would call the tech support number that should have came in that packet, and talk to someone.

Those sound Like the bottom end of the "normal" GM spec sheet but still in spec to keep them out of a warranty claim.

Just like GM says 1 qt. oil usage every 1k miles is "normal" but we would all raise hell if our brand new crate motor used that.... Can you say CYA....
