Question Oil Pressure?

Ok from a cold start my oil gauge is at 60. Then once warmed up it will idle at 45 but after awhile if the car is just idling in neutral it will start bouncing around and then stop but everytime it stops it goes lower. Then under WOT it can reach 80 at about 3500-4000 rpm. Does 80 seem kind of high? Is it the sending unit or something else. Will a compression test tell me anything? thanks in advance.

Cant answer your question about compressin test but my t/a at idle runs 40 then as the rpms get higher it will jump anywhere from 40-60. Not very often does it go below 40.

Did it just start doing this, or is this a fresh rebiuld, It could be the pigtail clip that plugs into the sending unit, possibly broken or popped loose. The pressure jumping all over is a problem, Hopefully just an electrical one though. Only downfall is to get to the thing ya gotta pull the intake manifold. Any mods been done to the car, perhaps an aftermarket oil pump?

Car is all stock besides exhaust and only has 47k original miles on it. It started doing this about 5 months ago but its been put up for awhile and I'm just now getting to it. It's been getting extremly bad gas mileage too. I'm not sure where to start with this thing.

You guys might try checking the pressure with a mechanical gauge, the stock gauge is notorious for being wrong a lot. They will do crazy things while a mechanical gauge will show that the car has good pressure.

Well I drove about 45 miles on the highway yesterday in 6th gear going 65-70 and lost almost about a quarter tank of gas so no the lead foot is not my problem yes around town maybe but on the highway I cruise. Although I did find out my fuel injectors may need cleaned out bad because my car when slowly given gas up through the rpms its not clean it sounds rough, someone told me it was injector knock. Figures cause the guy before me drove it only 280miles over a 3 year span so its done alot of sitting.

I don't either lol I work for carmax so I get my car looked at for cheap. When they check it out next week I'll post what I find out, cause I'm getting the whole car looked over.

injectors are easy, pull the spark plugs for JUST IN CASE, unbolt the fuel rail covers( if u have them) unplug ht pig tails from the injectors, loosen them and then finish the rails coming off. the injectors will come out easily
