Default Speedo off by 10mph

ok well bought the car and the guy told me it was reading 10mph over and i really didnt care much but im wondering if it has 4 10s? in 4th at 60mph its at like 3 grand on the highway so im guessing it could be a possibility (told by a good mechanic friend to try this). even at like 20 mph its reading 30. (school zone speed reader)

any info would be great.

all threads are old and dont answer my question so thanks in advance.

4th gear at 60mph should be 3200rpms. It goes off more and more as you go higher in speed. For example, if it's reading 140 or 150mph, your probably doing like 120-125mph realistically. I would get the speedo calibrated or your going to be racking up more miles then your really driving by alot! lol

wow fast reply. thanks man. i dont exactly know how to read all of that but i forgot the stock gearing is 342's so im thinking it has 373s instead of 410s but until i can afford a tune i guess im sol. lol luckily the car SAYS 65053 miles on it now but i do notice when im driving 60 (70 on speedo) it only takes like 51 seconds to read a whole mile on the odom.
