You need either stock or stage 1 then.. the stage 2 heads will not clear an ms4 unless you plan on fly cutting.
You need dual springs, push rods, timing chain, oil pump along with the cam. ms4 will require a tune as well.
Either way, I would call Texas speed to verify before you bought the heads from anywhere. That is their cam and nobody else knows it better.. don't take someone's word over the net, you don't know if they know anything they are talking about.

What size engine do you have? There are better choices then the MS4 it is alot of cam for a 347. I had the MS3 in a 383 and it was a lazy cam down low. They make good top end power but suck under the peak. IMOP.

Just gonna do a stock rebuild on the shortblock, 243 heads, LS6 intake, longtubes, and CAI. Not really sure what the best cam for that combo would be. I've just read good reviews about the MS4.

get a custom cam spec'd out for your mods. The MS4 is a lot of cam. I have the MS3 in my 402 and though its not a big cam for my motor I believe it is for a 347. I would shoot somewhere around low 230's range but that all depends on how you use/want your car.

Exactly. Their cams make good peak power but are over rated. Call Ed at FTI he is the man

Another thing to take into account is gears. Stock gears with something like the ms4 make it not so fun to drive.

Max effort cams require max effort everything.

For a street car, like mentioned, a low 230 with around .600 lift and 112 lsa would be ideal imo.

We need a sticky somewhere saying don't just buy the biggest cam possible!

With mild setups making great power these days I don't see how HUGE cams are still so popular.

Bigger Is better is almost always believed until you have, been there done that. In an all out max effort setup a donkey dick cam will almost always prevail over say a 228r. Imo though most people want a 228r over an ms4, whether they know it or not.
With that exact same setup but the ms4 car having a stock intake and the 228 car having a fast it will probably be faster. Not to mention most street cars dont want to run 410s, 4400 stall, expensive ported heads and intake, etc etc.. a small cam true street car can run right there with a big donkey dick cam street car, I have shown this before.
My old ms4 car demolished two other ms4 cars.. then my 226 cam car pulled on both those ms4 cars. It is all in the complete setup!!!! and until personal trial and error and a **** ton of research, most people just dont get it. You learn from your own mistakes.
