Hell no you can't sound like this with a catback....you have open headers...
You can with true duels though
and it say's in the caption...cammed ls1 ..which makes a huge difference as well

Ypipes and cutouts both sound like *** compared to true duals, no reason to argue that. Open headers sounds the worst.

I would get a decent catback like magnaflow and add a cutout with y pipe. Sounds good and flows good on street, open it up at track. Cutout is just loud, tone and quality is ***. Everyone is ok with a cutout until you hear a nice exhaust setup. I dont like the sound of dump trucks.

I have heard lts ypipe stock catback, even with ms4 cam it was extremely quiet and sounded horrible, tons of rasp.

This is just everyones opinion.

OP you just have to listen to each and see which one you like more, it is that simple.

I wouldn't go that route....just goofy *** backwards...get a catback....
OP you asked...and these are your answers...
wait till you hit the street with that setup....everyone/yourself will eventually ask what was he/I thinking...

Even if you mount the cutout right off the header?

I hate this comment and a lot of people are on this bandwagon. Have you ever drove your car with open headers? It sounds like a outlaw car. There is no way it sounds the worst. You may think it is way to loud and makes your interior rattle but no way in hell is it the worst sounding option.

For dd I personally think it's obnoxious for our cars...maybe alright for about a week, but not everyday....kinda sounds like a red neck f-150 truck driver that thinks he's too cool imao...

lol, me on a bandwagon, you dont see me post much do you?
I had lts open headers ms4 cam for a week or so, hated every ******* second of it. I had no option because my exhaust guy was out of town, I was waiting for my xpipe with one chambers. It isn't a band wagon, its terrible.

Open headers sound like ***, no tone to It, and are god awful loud. If you like open headers, y pipe, or cutout... you either need to hear way more exhaust setups or mature a bit.

This is ridiculous, I never understood why people argue about opinions..........

Some like them and some don't. It is that simple.

I love the way my car sound with the cutout open, some people dont like it. I am not asking them to like it, it is my car not theirs.

Again, OP go listen to sound clips and make your own choice.

If your keeping the stock cb I would at least get a better muffler. Thats where alot of the gains come from. Stock ws6 pipes are 2.75" vs an aftermarket 3" isnt going to gain you much.

So either stock cb, muffler, lt's and a cut out

or

3" catback and lt's would work just fine

Flamed, how many nice true dual setups have you heard on Fbodies?

I don't know one person that prefers a cutout to a nice x pipe with one chambers or the like. Loudness is the same.. xpipe has no rasp and a way way better tone.
I didn't say you can't like it, I said you need to hear more exhaust setups, not a big deal honey.

To the O.P., why not just try what you're considering?

If you don't like it, buy a catback.

If you do like it, you've just saved yourself $400+.

Either way you could post up with a video of LTs/ORY & Stock Catback and we could listen to it and form our own opinions. (And probably start a completely new arguement. )

And then post up again, if you decide to get an Aftermarket Catback for a "Before and After" comparison.

Another opinion.

The best topping on a pizza is bacon. If you dont like bacon on your pizza you have not ate the correct type of bacon. It must of been raw or overcooked. Maybe it did not come from meat that was aged correctly.....

better way to make your decision on what you like as sound.

If you just wana hear a louder exhaust note on demand ,put a cutout in your stock exhaust and save up for headers, ORY, and catback.

No sense in playing a guessing game having half stock and half performance exhaust.

I do applaud the idea of having a factory quiet exhaust & cutout if you get hassled by the fuzz too much.

How do cutouts sound like ***? I have a 3" QTP cutout on my passenger side welded up to my Y and I love it. I think it sounds awesome, but I also have fairly big cam....

So out of all the things I said, you could only find one thing? Awesome.

Horrible, horrible rasp. Sounds like a dump truck. They are loud, zero tone. If you ever hear a good exhaust setup, you will agree.
