Would you buy a used LSx from a car that was rolled?
I am looking for a LS2 and found one relatively close by at salvage yard from a TBSS. The truck was however rolled over. I called about it and they said the engine ran great prior to being removed. I wonder though if it might not be such a great idea to buy an engine that was rolled however. Any thoughts on this?

Mileage is 41k and asking price is $4500 which i think is pretty high. I can get a crate LS6 for that same priced shipped (minus a few hundred bucks also). I was thinking of offering something in the $2.5k range and seeing if they will go for it if i show up with cash in hand to pick it up.
This motor will be going into my 944 Turbo eventually.. i just sold the spare engine i had kept for that and plan to buy an LS2 as the new 'spare'. So even after i buy this motor i would still need to replace the intake manifold, find a wireharness (this one does not include it) and find the f-body accessory drive so everything fits in my car..so the cheaper the better considering all i need is the long block and injectors really. Ideally i would buy an LS2 from a GTO as i can use that accessory drive setup, but those are pretty rare .
Its a bummer because i missed a good deal on an LS2 driving distance from me a few weeks ago in the classifieds.
