Default OEM SS hood

What do i have to look for on a ss hood to insure that it is an OEM hood???

The gm serial number underneath a lot of times you can automatically tell companies have reall shitty scoop designs that Look too flat or are in the wrong position to be a ss hood you can always go to van to get a sick hood I have had the raised ss hood and now have a sunoco wide

You should see this under the drivers side support bracket.
Also, don't be surprised if the paint looks crappy in the back. My hood looks like it was touched up with a big brush, it's in an area very hard to see with it on the car. In fact I had the car 6 years before I noticed it.

Check carefully alot of fakes out there looking for top dollar!

Are the aftermarket hoods really that bad? I noticed they close kind of hard.

Although I have seen some that are very poor craftsmenship with huge gaps...
