are the B4C cars any better, or are they just a Z28 de-badged? are they worth it, were they usually beat on by troopers, or maybe they are much heavier with the bigger sways and stuff? theres an Oklahoma B4C car for sale here cheap. wondering if i should consider it as an potion to purchase.
thanks

Basically, B4C cars are Z28's and the only mod made for special service was a bigger alternator for their equipment. Otherwise, stock Z28. i would be concerned with engine hrs more than mileage as most are sitting idling all day with the AC on while officers sit doing their job in the heat. They prob are not beat on too bad for what the cars are built for but you never know for sure with some police forces.

Yea the LS1 cars are basically just Z28s. The B4C option was just a one stop shop for fleet ording police camaros. The check one option and get everything they need without any BS extras.
Most of the stupid B4C myths came from the police forces in general who have no idea about the cars. I've had 3 B4C camaros over the years and I've heard some pretty amazing BS from LEOs who have had camaros. One actually told me that they had superchargers and 5 speed automatic transmissions so they can run over 200mph to catch speeders =/
The 91/92 B4Cs got more cool B4C only stuff than any of the 4th gen cars.
I still think the B4Cs are cool just because they are a little different and most of them have had some history.

The 4th gen B4Cs have nothing performance-oriented, standard or optional, over a Z28. No extra coolers, better alternators, superchargers, or jet packs. The autos got 3.23 gears, the 6-speeds got 3.42s. From GM's brochure:

The 3rd gen B4Cs did get some cool stuff. GMs own testing (or maybe it was the bean-counters) proved they didn't need anything above the stock 4th gen Z28 in any of the performance catergories. Here's a couple of mine from the past. First is a 1999 B4C from the City of Fort Worth. They put roll bars in their Camaros, and removed the passenger seat for room for all the goodies. The second is a 2000 formerly owned by the State of Texas.
