get some long tubes for a decent hp pickup. pacesetters or ebays are best bang for buck deal around.

No need to buy a new muffler if you're on a tight budget, you can get a cutout for $30 and enjoy the same gains (or more).

Air lid is a fantastic mod, and should be one of the first ones done. I would skip the expensive air filters though.

Everything he said except don't get ebay headers unless you want fitment issues..

It's more like this:
Pacesetter Longtubes $400
TSP ORY $1xx
The rest you pick out for yourself lol

On these cars longtube headers is basically a guaranteed 20rwhp gain min. from just the headers.

That would also mean getting a full 3" cat back exhaust or true duals. A cut out in the stock exhaust is going to hold back alittle power.

I'm asking this genuinely, have you actually installed a set and had a problem?

I've done hookers on 2 cars, ebay on 2 cars, and pacesetters. the ebay fit exactly the same as the pacesetters. I recommend ebay because they don't rust out in a few years like my hookers did.

to each his own but I am plenty happy with mine

I went the cheapest route I could take and and very happy with my setup. I run...

Chrome BBK LT's/ORY (sold as a set, includes gaskets for the headers) - $370 shipped
Hooker Aerochamber - $90
O2 extensions - $20

The only thing I didn't do myself was weld the the muffler on which cost me like another $40 for welding and some custom bent pipes to reach the rear.

So for like $500 total you can get a badass exhaust system if you do the work.
