My first ls1
Hello guys and girls
I have just got my hands on a 2000 ls1 out of a c5 and a t56 out of a 2001
z28 to put into my 1980 camaro. This will be my first genIII build up and would like some direction. I would like to make 400 to 450 rear wheel. I going to use a ls6 intake with 243 heads but i have no idea about a cam for this engine. The car has 3.73 gears from the old engine/trans setup. Will this gearing work ok with the t56? Will the stock injectors flow enough for this hp? I know the pulse width and timing will be adjusted with a good tune but will i need a higher pressure regulator? I know there are alot of variables and info i have left out but i just want to get a base line to work with any info that you give me will be very helpful! Thankyou

You might max out the injectors with that power. There is a big difference between 400 and 450 rwhp. You can get 400 rwhp pretty easily out of 243 heads with a mild cam. Read the stickies in the internal engine section. You can also call one of the sponsors like Texas Speed or Thunder racing and they know a lot of tech and can help you pick a setup for your app. Good luck with the swap.
