that sounds odd. I get about 185 at idling and driving. Only when i really get on her she goes up to about 190ish.

If you have stock fan settings then I wouldnt worry unless your high speed fan dosent take the temp back down from 235f I think it is? I cant remember what the stock settings are but they are high.

How are you reading your temps?

Mine used to get up in the 230s before high fan takes it back down for low speed. That was before I had the car tuned though. Its normal

I have a obd2 scanner I can read live data and clear and read codes. My fan kicked on at 226 just a bit ago and brought it down to 215 im gunna buy a fan switch from slp maybe that will help or get it tuned

That sounds perfectly normal to me, with stock fan settings.

That is what your engine is designed to run at. Lowering the fan settings without the correct thermostat will only keep your fans on all the time. Mine will easily get to 235 in stop and go traffic in the summer. No big deal, like I said it is designed for that running temp.

yeah that sounds about right. really 210 which is right in the middle of your temp gauge is normal but a little higher isn't bad. really as long as you don't get it up in the red your fine.

The temp gage is buffered; when you use a scanner you will notice that the actual coolant temp can be anywhere from about 190°F to about 230°F and the needle will still show 210.

Yep, 210 is the dead zone. Needle points up while actual temp fluctuates. If it starts going up from 210, you got a problem. That's with the exception of 98 cars who did not have this feature.

Yep, the gauge for the '98s is much more sensitive to actual changes in coolant temp, and will show much more movement (the readings are still not 100% accurate as compared to a scanner though).
