310 01-02 Z28
325 01-02 Ss

torque is 340 Z28/350 SS

There isn't anything special about the SS. The Z28 still makes 350 at the crank.

GM couldn't just put out a $20K Z28 that advertised the same 350hp that a $40K Corvette had. So, being the marketing geniouses they are, they gave us f-body owners the 305/310/320/325 ratings. In reality, everyone knows it's 350hp/375tq.

Z28's, SS's, and C5's have the same motor, practically same hp and same torque. SS is the appearence package, hood, wheels, spoiler, suspension, and exhuast.

98-00 LS1's: 295-305rwhp Stock
01-02 LS1's: 305-315rwhp Stock
C5's: 305-315rwhp Stock
Z06 (LS6): 350-370rwhp Stock

Sounds like another SLP hater. I do think my SS
is the greatest thing since sliced bread but guess
what I thought the same damn thing about DOZEN
Z28's I had before it.

If you read the post he was refering to a FORD guy
not some ignorant SLP owner.

loco: English, dude, English... All the LS1 F-bodys will dyno within 5-10 rwhp of each other for any given year. There is more difference from manufacturing tolerances than between a WS6/SS and a Formula/Z28/Trans Am. The only difference are the special edition cars that came with lids/catbacks/etc from the factory.

unit and Ben,
what isn't to understand
the guy I quoted is giving typical attitude
that has been going on for too long.
I don't need a lesson on the HP figures
Just pointing out the the thread starter
is having a disagreement with a FORD guy as
he states and not the retarded SS vs Z28 aguement
that 98Z is suggesting and he's coming to take my
much money

Ben also what english lesson do you want to
give me, sorry I didn't spell check on a message
board, do you really like to belittle people for something
so petty. Second No way in hell does every LS1 of a given
year dyno 5-10 apart, more like 30-40, ever hear of freaks
and dogs. I though you were so smart there Mr. Grammer

Thanks guys, I knew I shouldn't have stayed outta this one.

I don't remember typing it, but damn that was funny :lol

Relax man, I wasn't insulting you personally.

I do think my SS
is the greatest thing since sliced bread but guess
what I thought the same damn thing about DOZEN
Z28's I had before it.
Then OBVIOUSLY this doesn't apply to you.

Sheesh, some people are so uptight.

No not uptight at all,
it just that this SS vs Z28 stuff
has been on these boards since the
SS came back out, its so damn old
and I get pissed cause I love camaros
period. I hate the internal feud.
Just ask DMNSPD.

then the others had to get their little
wise cracks too-that's what's uptight.
No hard fellings

loco: Just pokin' a little fun, I apologize if you took it personal. "Freaks" and "dogs" are hardly the norm, that's why they are considered special. We're all enthusiasts, I was just busting your ballz. I'll wear the title "Mr. Grammer" (BTW, it's grammar, which makes it even more funny...no offense) with pride! Hope you had a great weekend and please take this internet stuff with a grain of salt...

30-40rwhp variance? Someone must've snuck in a few LS6's then.

...and it is you with the attitude my friend.

All egos aside I overreacted a little but
still say the reactions I got were unjust.

Anyway some LS1's dyno in the 260's(dogs)
other in the 310's(freaks), not much to dispute
about it, dyno variations aside.

I've never seen or heard of an LS1 dyno 260rwhp, dog or not. If you see that kind of a dyno number its because that it was on a Mustang dyno.

Peace,
Craig.
