Any news on this subject? May look into do the Texas Mile. Stock 2000 T/A with a lid and GMMG catback. Gonna get a tune and ported TB soon but if the money is around, would hold off to see what she'll do in the mile. Auto so 2.73's in the rear. Hmmm....gotta convince the wife now

I would say it should be right on par with the 5th gen Camaro as the 4th gens are a lot lighter weight way more aerodynamic and has less rotational mass in the drivetrain to make up for the hp difference!
Thats just my 02cents

Again, does anyone have a list of locations for the standing mile? I'm not finding anything at work.

for those in the northeast there is a recently closed air force base here in Maine doing speed runs , 2.5 mile course
I imagine distance is marked so you could reference your speedo or gps , maybe capture gps and one mile marker on go pro if you dont want to run it out the full distance.

4 point bar to go above 135 , 6 point 150-175 , more safety gear the faster you want to go

Look through the archive record from the link below.

Running in a couple, stock LS1 would do low 140's completely stock. That said, in running the mile, there are HUGE weather variables that help or hurt trap speeds. Head winds hurt, tail winds help, and cross winds are just flat scary! Here are some baseline numbers on stocking vehicles I have seen run the mile:
Gen. 5 Camaro's - Low 150's
New 5.0 Mustangs - low 150's
c6 LS2/c5 Z06 - high 150's-160
C6Z06 - 168-172
C6ZR1 - 175-180
Just my .02

When I first got my car 6 years ago I did this on my own one day just using the odometer so it wasn't exactly precise but I don't think a few 100ths would have changed my speed that much. Windows down and tops off I was right at 145. I did have the catback, slp intake, and ptb though so not exactly stock.
Tops on, windows up, and a fresh coat of wax there is no doubt in my mind I could have hit 150
