True duals, need help?
Ive been considering putting an h pipe on my 2001 trans am instead of keeping the y pipe. However I went to my local exhaust guy and he said that on the newer trans ams or camaros that they can't really fit an h pipe or an x pipe. Then if they did they said it wouldn't have much clearance at all. He added that if I put out about 2 grand and had LT's then it would be possible.
Is he in the right ballpark or is that incorrect. Ive seen other T/A's and Camaros with h or x pipes and all done under 1 grand. Does anybody have an idea?

Depends if you want it ran out back or dumped before the axle. Out back is going to run you more. I brought my shop the mufflers which cost me $100 for both from Jegs and he did the piping for $80. That is dumped before the axle. So I payed $180 for true duals.

I have tru-duals with an H-pipe. I don't have any issues with ground clearance at all. I am stock ride height however. I do have longtubes and the shop that did it for me charged me $300 including mufflers and tips. They are run all the way out the back also.

Correct I have two dynomax bullets. I have longtube headers as well and cats for appearance. I took mine to a small locally owned shop. I went to a few shops and they said it couldnt be done on my car. I pretty much told them to jump off a cliff.
